Nearly 80% of schools (79.6%) in Campeche lack internet access, a crucial resource for modern learning. Additionally, more than half of the schools (51%) do not have computers, further hindering educational development.
Schools in Campeche also struggle with inadequate infrastructure for basic services. According to the latest data, 34.9% of schools lack essential services such as piped water, electricity, sinks, and separate bathrooms. Civil society organizations stress that these are the minimum requirements for a conducive learning environment.
Under the administration of Governor Layda Sansores San Román, 21.3% of schools in Campeche do not have access to drinking water. Furthermore, 66.3% of schools are not equipped with facilities for students with disabilities, and 80.9% lack adapted materials for students.
These significant gaps in resources and infrastructure present substantial challenges for students and educators in Campeche, impacting the overall quality of education and the ability of students to achieve their full potential.
