The Mexican government, under the administration of Claudia Sheinbaum, has implemented the “Sembrando Vida” (Sowing Life) program in Cuba, allocating significant resources for agricultural cooperation.

Reports indicate a donation of 588 million pesos through the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID). Other sources mention support figures amounting to approximately 35 million US dollars, within the framework of regional cooperation for food sovereignty.

Program Details: The support aims to replicate the Mexican “Sembrando Vida” model to promote agricultural production, strengthen food security on the island, and generate rural employment.

Financing Mechanism: Resources are channeled through AMEXCID and agreements with Bancomext.

Context of Aid: This support is part of a series of cooperation and humanitarian aid actions that the Mexican government maintains with the Cuban government.

Hundreds of Mexican citizens have taken to social media to express their concerns, stating that there is much to be done in Mexico regarding the fight against insecurity and organized crime, as well as in agriculture and the health sector, and that these resources should be used for these purposes in Mexico and not given away to the Cuban dictatorial regime.
