President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador informed on Friday, March 5th, that Campeche will be the first federal state to restart face-to-face classes as there are conditions so that students can return to the classroom soon.

In his daily morning press briefing at the National Palace, Lopez Obrador stated that some 20,000 teachers in Campeche, including simple workers, have already been vaccinated with the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine, and as of next week, around 100,000 adults aged 60 years and older will be immunized.

The proposal is that when all older adults are vaccinated between March 9 and 23, people must wait some few days and after the Holy Week has passed, face-to-face classes are restarted the first days of April in all campuses of the state.

Meanwhile, ‘The school is ours’ program will be implemented, and the families will directly receive, without intermediaries, the necessary resources to repair, fit out and maintain the school facilities, the president stated.

The head of State said that the governor and teachers in Campeche are going to support this purpose because this is a state with a long education tradition.
