The historical price of the dollar reached this Saturday means a rebound of 1.18 pesos with respect to the closing of last Friday
In the midst of the chaos that the stock exchanges are going through in New York due to the coronavirus, this Saturday, March 16, the dollar exceeded 23 pesos for the first time in its history.
The currency was exchanged at 23.08 pesos this morning in international negotiations, where most operations are carried out with the Mexican currency.
It means a rise of 1.18 pesos with respect to the closing of last Friday, according to information from the Bloomberg agency.
The dollar strengthens despite the fact that the United States Federal Reserve (Fed) announced yesterday the biggest cut in interest rates in 38 years, to contain the economic impacts of the coronavirus in its country.
The authority announced that its rate is now going to oscillate between 0% and 0.25%, instead of the previous interval that went from 1% to 1.25%. It represents a drop of one percentage point and represents the largest cut since August 1982.
