Raid in Campeche results in 6 arrests and the seizure of hydrocarbons, weapons, a light aircraft, and 61 vehicles.

The Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR) and the Mexican Navy (Semar) carried out a search of a ranch in the community of El Cerrito, in the municipality of Champotón, Campeche, where six people were arrested and hydrocarbons, firearms, an aircraft, 61 vehicles, and cash were seized.

Investigation into the irregular transportation of hydrocarbons

The operation was part of an investigation launched in April 2026 into alleged crimes involving hydrocarbons, following an anonymous complaint filed with the Specialized Regional Control Prosecutor’s Office (FECOR) in Campeche.

According to the investigation, the property was allegedly being used by a company to carry out the irregular transportation of hydrocarbons from Mérida, Yucatán, to Campeche.

Based on this information, the Federal Public Prosecutor requested and obtained authorization from a Control Judge to conduct the search.

Hydrocarbons, weapons, and vehicles seized

During the operation, authorities seized approximately 5,912 liters of hydrocarbons and 3,000 liters of aviation fuel.

Authorities also found:

  • Five long guns and three handguns.
  • 12 magazines and 1,000 rounds of ammunition of various calibers.
  • Two night-vision devices.
  • Two ballistic vests.
  • Two firearm attachments.
  • One aircraft.
  • 61 land vehicles.
  • 777,750 pesos and five U.S. dollars.
  • Two tanks containing LP gas.
  • Various documents.
  • The property itself.

Detainees

The six people arrested were placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Prosecutor, which will determine their legal status within the constitutionally established period and in accordance with due process.

The investigation remains ongoing into possible offenses covered by the Federal Law to Prevent and Punish Crimes Committed in Matters of Hydrocarbons, as well as any other offenses that may be established.
