Despite the fact that during her administration she has managed more than 100 billion pesos approved by the Congress of the State of Campeche in the four years of her government, plus 27,151 million pesos for the 2026 fiscal year, Campeche is suffering from a very high crime rate, a serious economic and social setback, and is embroiled in an intense persecution against independent journalists such as Jorge Luis González Valdez, former director of Tribuna Campeche; opposition figures; renowned academics such as the rector José Alberto Abud Flores; and hundreds of former police officers who were unjustly dismissed and who still have not received severance in accordance with the law.
Governor Layda Sansores lashes out even against Morena lawmakers who had to seek legal alternatives to reactivate their immunity in the face of threats that they might be arrested and possibly even have evidence planted on them by the state police, just as they did with Abud Flores last month for refusing to bow to the whims of the state executive and for defending university autonomy.
OPAQUENESS
Today, the newspaper El Universal published that Layda Sansores is blocking the publication of the results of audits of her government on the National Transparency Platform.
In addition to being intolerant of criticism, she persecutes critical journalists such as González Valdez, Joel Ynurreta, Alberto V. Cruz, Abraham Martínez Caamal, and others.
The Campeche State Attorney General’s Office (FGECAM) is even carrying out “discreet” operations in the Legislative Palace, which were detected and denounced by José Antonio Jiménez Gutiérrez, President of the Political Coordination Board of the Congress of Campeche.
The governor’s conduct is regrettable; even Ricardo Monreal Ávila urged her to respect the separation of powers.
President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo also called on her to calm down, because her actions do not contribute to harmony while the state is in a political and social crisis due to the rise in crime, unemployment caused by the loss of thousands of jobs, as reported by INEGI and by local congresswoman Tania González Pérez of the MC party.
Digital media aligned with the state’s repressive regime also continue their media attacks against Deputy Antonio Jiménez.
The seven Morena mayors, in a submissive and servile manner, express their solidarity with the governor, but the citizens of Campeche have opened their eyes and are questioning the lack of results and commitment in the state administration.
Roger Cornelio Sosa posed a few questions to the “seal clappers” of Campeche’s FOURTH-TRANSFORMATION government of improvisations and simulations:
- Do they have to be submissive to a Single Way of Thinking?
- What is the crime of Antonio Jiménez and the rebel deputies?
- Why do you insinuate that they are not transparent, that they have a criminal record, and should be prosecuted?
- Seriously, “…would it be a setback”?
- And what have the reforms to the judiciary, the censorship law, the “Maduro law,” etc., been?
Lastly, our governor must correct course despite a series of legal stumbles that have exposed her inability to govern.
