The anguish over the disappearance of a Belgian family in Campeche has ended. The Campeche State Attorney General’s Office (FGECAM) reported that Natacha Gielis and her teenage children, Wendy Sarah Dullaerts and Lucas Cedric Dullaerts, were found safe and sound.
“The last time anyone heard from them was on October 22, when they left their home in the municipality of Calkiní, heading to the city of Campeche,” reads the statement issued by the State Attorney General’s Office in recent days.
According to the missing person report, Wendy Sarah Dullaerts, 15, is described as a teenager who is 1.45 meters tall, with a slim build, fair complexion, long, straight hair, blue eyes, a broad forehead, sparse eyebrows, and a scar in the form of two lines on her forehead.
Lucas Cedric Dullaerts, 12 years old, is 1.35 meters tall, has a slender build, fair complexion, blond hair, blue eyes, a delicate nose, thin lips, and a scar on his right cheekbone and another on his chin.
What happened in the disappearance of the Belgian family in Campeche?
The mother and her two missing children had left their home, and their whereabouts were unknown. For this reason, authorities in the state considered it a high-priority case, as the family was of foreign origin.
“The Campeche State Attorney General’s Office reports that, in coordination with the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office, Natacha Gielis and her children, Wendy Sarah and Lucas Cedric Dullaerts, were located and are in good health under the protection of the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office.”
Although the reason the family left their home is still unknown; However, authorities stressed that they would continue investigating to clarify the case.
