The decree establishes that the occupation of these properties will be immediate for complementary works on tracts 2 and 3.
In a decree published in the Official Journal of the Federation (DOF), the Secretary of Agrarian, Territorial, and Urban Development (Sedatu) stated that the expropriated lands total over 528,000 square meters and will be used for complementary works on tracts 2 and 3 of the Maya Train.
The document, signed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and published in Tuesday’s evening edition of DOF, adds that the occupation of these properties will be immediate.
Tracts 2 and 3 of the Maya Train, with routes Escárcega-Kalkiní and Kalkiní-Izamal, are already in operation. However, as has happened previously, the government expropriates lands or properties to carry out complementary works.
