The Pacific coast has surpassed the Mexican Caribbean in hotel occupancy during the week of November 9-15. The data released by Datatur confirm that Los Cabos and Vallarta lead the averages with occupations of 55.3 percent and 45.5 percent respectively, while Cancun remains at 43.9 percent.

However, despite these data, the destination par excellence in the Mexican Caribbean is the one that receives the highest volume of international passengers at its airport (mostly from the US and Canada), above that of Mexico City, as reported by REPORTUR .mx

The report establishes that during the period January-September 2020, the airports that received the highest number of foreign visitors in Mexico were, according to their nationality: Cancun (2,331,774), Mexico City (1,236,185), Los Cabos (593,325), Puerto Vallarta (550,155), Guadalajara (411,791), Cozumel (74,874), Monterrey (72,376) and Mazatlán (59,345).

Hotel forecasts indicate that by the end of the year, Cancun will be able to reach a full house in its hotel establishments in the event that the epidemiological traffic light turns green and allows them a 100 percent occupancy, which currently stands at 60 percent
